In supporting our significant growth, Distribution360 is looking for a new role of Distribution Accountant to join its expanding team.
The Distribution Accountant supports an international content sales and distribution operation across IP rights management, sales tracking, royalty reporting, payments and licensee invoicing. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing practices to link the flow of information between the contract & rights management database and the accounting software to maximize efficiencies, automate processes, and provide superior customer service. The Distribution Analyst will review all license and acquisition contracts, assist in maintaining contract accuracy in the contract & rights management system and utilize the data to create licensee invoices, financial reports and calculate payments to producers and partners, while tracking and analysing all expenditures related to content sales. This position will require a maze bright individual to exploit the use of existing systems to their full potential, to eliminate double entry and inefficiencies. You will need to be detail oriented with strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills. As this will be a client-facing role, the successful candidate will be required to communicate positively and professionally with clients and stakeholders at all levels.

Track all sales revenue, expenses and costs associated with distribution
Execute detailed royalty reporting for IP owners as scheduled
Provide analysis of profitability and investment viability of current assets and potential acquisitions.
Establish process for creating flow of information between current software packages and databases
Become rights management database expert and get existing software running at full capacity for distribution reporting
Analyze and interpret legal documents with respect to financial reporting requirements
Invoice licensees according to contract
Set up customers in the contract management database and prepare scheduled royalty reports for acquired and produced assets with accuracy, clarity, and compliance to contractual terms
Liaise with external and internal clients to address and resolve queries and/or issues related to statement and payments
Track and update work process as projects are assigned
Accomplish assigned tasks timely, adhering to prescribed deadlines
Perform additional analysis and assist in process improvement projects as required
Responsible for timely distribution invoicing and verifying receipts are in accordance with contract terms.
Ensuring that all withholding taxes are minimized and all efforts are made at recovery where possible
Ad-hoc projects as requested
Report all agent commissions on a quarterly basis.
Key Competencies & Experience Required
1.5 to 3 years working experience in same or similar capacity
Strong understanding of revenue accounting and royalty reporting
Knowledge of IP rights and media contracts/language
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, especially Excel
Experience with Comet rights management software or similar database application
Working knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software is an asset
Able to demonstrate solid analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent communicator who is customer service oriented, able to interact effectively with clients and management at all levels
Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, and manage pressure constructively
Positive, can-do attitude, able to work well independently while enjoying a team atmosphere
College diploma or university degree in accounting or database management an asset
